Stuart White established First Peoples Insurance in 2023, looking to fill a need in the market and create a legacy for his family and community.
Following a decades-long career in retail centre property, Biripi man Stuart White was inspired to return to university to study entrepreneurship and innovation, an area he had always been interested in.
He then set about looking for gaps in the market and solutions to those gaps that could also help the Indigenous community.
After many conversations across community, he identified a need for an insurance broker specialising in Indigenous business solutions, and First Peoples Insurance was born in November last year.
Filling a gap
In 2022, Indigenous engagement consultancy Winangali produced a report [with] Allianz as part of the Allianz Reconciliation Action Plan, to assist Allianz in developing an informed view of the insurance needs of First Nations communities.
