Administrative tasks are keeping insurers from higher-value work. So, what steps can they take to create a more efficient and profitable business?
How much time do you spend on administration? When insurance software company JAVLN surveyed 500 Australian insurance brokers, 70 per cent said tasks such as processing claims and quotes ate up at least three hours of their day.
Asked what they’d rather be doing with that time, 38 per cent claimed they would focus on bringing in new business, 36 per cent on learning and development, 32 per cent on diversifying their client portfolio and 32 per cent on managing insurer relationships.
Many brokers are aware of the need to streamline their work and secure the time to concentrate on big-picture challenges and higher-value tasks that can help their businesses take the next step and remain competitive, says Dale Smith, CEO and founder of JAVLN.
“We believe technology can solve an enormous number of problems, but also help brokers become more efficient,” he says.
