She loved her team. She believed in the organisation’s purpose. But each week another capable colleague left, decisions became less transparent and the workplace she had once enjoyed began to wear her down.
Leadership consultant Danielle Dal Cortivo was recently coaching a client who found herself in exactly that position. A senior executive’s behaviour was driving talented people away, yet the CEO appeared unwilling to intervene. Favouritism was presented as “trust”, difficult decisions lacked transparency and morale was steadily declining.
Rather than focusing on the executive, Dal Cortivo turned the conversation elsewhere.
